Why no terror strike in US post 9/11 while we have???

This is the question that every one asks and blame it on police, security and int agencies. True, that we have been attacked umpteen number of times and have some how not able to curb this. But comparing it with situation in US is tad harsh. We are India and not US. Ponder on under mentioned points and you will realize why………..

1. Our politicians are lame duck (fattu aur chutiye) and they don’t have will to curb this menace of terrorism. The vote bank card is played at every single step. Interference with functioning of security agencies further weakens them.

2. US is lucky not to have “good neighbours” like us.

3. US security forces don’t have to man their borders. India has LoC, LAC, IB and porous borders to Nepal and Bangladesh. 70% of our resources are deployed to keep an eye on these boundaries. Thousands km of boundary being manned by few thousand men. The forces are overstretched yet they have been doing very good job. If you have been on borders, you ll realize that no matter how much force you put there will be gaps and thus infiltration.

4. No sync between state and center. Our governments are too busy in playing blame game.

5. India’s demography is very diversified than US and meddling by local gunda to politicians is at every level.

6. We don’t have stringent laws and existing one are toothless.

7. Our leaders lack the will to tackle terrorism. They want to keep it lingering so that it acts as a tool for them in their petty politics.

8. We as people only make complaints and don’t really feel for NATION. I can bet that more than 70% of populace is not interested in what is going in our nation. The attitude of Indifference. When we become victim, we Cry. In US, citizens are more law abiding and patriotic.

9. We are reluctant to participate in Democratic process and then keep on cribbing for remaining time. The day we will have voting% more than 75, automatically good candidates will enter assembly or parliament.

10. We are too soft state. We are wary of bold decisions. In US or Israel, citizens consider themself to be soldier and don’t get bog down by the terrorist demands or acts. They believe in crushing it.

11. We have no value of human life. Its comes far too cheap in our nation. In US they value human life. So, we cry for one day and then forget everything. This is our beauty that we forget things very fast!!!

The day we realize that this nation which we call INDIA is constituted by us. The day we think to be an INDIAN first. The day we feel good for our nation and work towards building better INDIA. The day we decide to act rather than only react or want some one else to act on our behalf. That day we will be able to change the face and fate of our INDIA. Everyone of us must be part of nation building process.

Be the change you want to see.If you are not the part of solution then you are the problem. There is no mid way.

3. He must be able to travel into unexplored parts. A good leader, says Dr Kalam, never travels the paths explored by others.

6. A leader should have good management skills.

7. Every action of the leader should be transparent.

London 2012: The Most Successful for India!

Disappointed on Sushil winning Silver.

Sushil will be first Indian to win two individual Olympic medals. Well Done. You are Legend for us!

But perhaps this has been the beauty of London 2012. For the first time we have been disappointed of not winning PARTICULAR medal otherwise every time we use to hope to win A medal. London 2012 is India’s most successful campaign and it will be the new start for Indian Sports. Perhaps we are on the verge of breaking cusp/ jinx of being medal deprived nation and rise from here on.
We won three at Beijing and now Six in London, this tally is hopefully going to increase with every game. All the best for sporting bodies across country to focus in right direction. First time we have been so competitive in Int’l stage. Winning medals is different and getting recognized on Int’l stage is in itself a big achievement.
Eg: Devendro, Vikas Gowda, Tintu Loka, Kashyap, Ponappa/ Gutta, Swaran Singh, BB Rana, Amit Kumar, Jai Bhagwan, Sangwan and many more have left a mark on Sporting Fraternity around the world. They will surely take respective sports to new glory.

Come on India!! Time to celebrate the most successful Olympics. Cheers!!!

Hindi Story: Aakhir Kiske Liye?

Valentine’s Day! Read This…

A beautiful post Sent by one friend:

Dear civilian girl,

You complain that your boyfriend has worked late all week a…nd have barely seen him.

-I look forward to the two weeks a year we spend together.

You complain because he doesn’t call you enough.

-My heart is thankful for the 15 second phone call I got last Tuesday in the middle of the night!

You whine to your friends about how much you miss him already because he is on a two day trip with his parents.

-I won’t see him for another 10 months!

You don’t feel like making love tonight because you are too tired.

-We will stay up all night because we don’t know when it will be the last time.

Your boyfriend belongs to you.

-Mine belongs to the government.

Your boyfriend is training for his game next weekend.

-My boyfriend is trained to kill.

It’s just not practical for you to drive an hour to see him every weekend during school.

-He spends 15000 Rupees on a plane ticket just to see me 2 days!

You hate hanging up the phone when talking to him.

-My heart breaks because I won’t talk to him for another 10 days.

You complain that he doesn’t take enough time out of his life for you.

-My man has to get up in the middle of the night to talk with me because of the time difference. He doesn’t complain.

Your man is in a bad mood from not sleeping much this week.

-My man ran 10 miles this morning at 4 in the morning and has a full day of

work ahead of him. He’s lucky if he gets a few hours of sleep!

Your boyfriend can call in sick when he is tired or not feeling well.

-My man works no matter what!

You don’t trust him so you follow him places to see if he is telling the truth.

-I have no choice but to trust him and even then I trust him with my life.

You don’t like him talking so sexually with his friends.

-My boyfriend has to chant it in drills.

You check your phone, see you missed a call from him, and decide to call him back when you aren’t so busy.

-I see a missed a call and cry, because I don’t know when he can call again.

You might save a cute voice message from him.

-I save them all b/c it helps me to remember what his voice sounds like.

Being apart for a month to you seems daunting.

-A month apart for me is a wish that can’t come true.

You wouldn’t change schools to be close to him.

-I have to move to another country to be with him.

You have every part of him memorized.

-I study pictures so I don’t forget what he looks like.

You take your time together for granted.

-We don’t!

Your cell phone bill was high this month from talking too much.

-He pays 80 rs per minute to call me from Siachin … when he CAN call.

You love that fancy necklace he bought you

-I refuse to take his dog tags off, and not a day goes by that I don’t have them on…

You say you miss him.

-Times that by 100.

Jai Hind

VIJAY DIVAS: Tribute to Real Heroes!

Mission OTA

This poem was written for Nanhe by Maggi. Now Nanhe wont be able to write post for few months.

Wishing Nanhe all the best for his Mission OTA Chennai.

Army Day Observed on January 15

This poem is dedicated to all the brave soldiers of Indian Armed Forces. 15th January is observed as Army Day in the country.
It is because of them that we are free.
I came across this poem on email. I thank the poet for writing such a beautiful poem.

Saluting Indian Soldiers on the occasion of Army Day

Indian ArmyNanhe is die hard fan of Indian Armed Forces and will like to share a poem with you all. He found this poem on one of social networking site. January 15 is celebrated as Army Day. It was on this day, in 1949, when General Kodandera Madappa Cariappa took over as the first Indian Commander in Chief of the Indian Army from General Roy Butcher, a British Army Officer.

 The Final Inspection

SoldierThe Soldier stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

“Step forward now, you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?”

The Soldier squared his shoulders and said,
“No, my Lord, I ain’t.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can’t always be a saint.

I’ve had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I’ve been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a dollar,
That wasn’t mine to keep…
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I’ve wept unmanly tears.

I know I don’t deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you’ve a place for me here, Lord,
It needn’t be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

Soldier“Step forward now, you Soldier,
You’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets,
You’ve done your time in Hell.”

It’s the Soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press.
It’s the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
It’s the Soldier, not the politicians, that ensures our right to Life, Freedom and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It’s the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.
